The Sunday clash saw Iran beating the host in three successive sets in Kazan, Russia, bagging a total of 7 points. Mojtaba Mirzajanpour and Shahram Mahmoudi got 17 points each for Iran. Maxim Mikhaylov was the top scorer for the Russia with 16 points.
In their previous encounter back on Saturday, Iran also defeated Russia 3-1 with Mojtaba Mirzajanpour and Milad Ebadipour gaining 14 points each for Iran and Maxim Mikhaylov getting 17 points for Russia.
With its second win, Iran is now on the third place of its pool with 7 points.
Iran’s national volleyball team left for Tehran last night to prepare to face respectively the United States, Poland, and again Russia over the League’s sixth through 8th weeks.
